In heraldry, a cross cleché, or clechée, flares out at the tips in a shape resembling the handle of an old-fashioned key. The tips are actually rounded off in loops, inside the cross is a second cross that is smaller and the same color as the background field. This cross may be found in both Latin and Greek forms.
