Saint Joseph of Arimathea, a devoted follower of Jesus, appears in several parallel accounts across the Gospels of Mark, Luke, and John. Tradition holds that St. Joseph later journeyed to England. At Glastonbury, he placed his staff into the ground, and miraculously, it took root. The Holy Thorn that sprang from that staff continues to grow in Glastonbury to this day.
