St. Lawrence (St. Lawrence of Rome) was one of the seven deacons of ancient Rome, serving under Pope St. Sixtus II. According to lore, among the treasures of the Greek Church entrusted to Lawrence for safe-keeping was the Holy Chalice, the cup from which Jesus and the Apostles drank at the Last Supper. St. Lawrence was martyred during the persecution of Valerian in 258. Lawrence was tortured on an Iron bed (or roasting rack according to Hilarie C) over a fire. St. Lawrence shield depicts an Iron bed. This St. Lawrence Christian PowerPoint Theme or template is predominantly colored dark blue. The download includes a Title slide that's different than the other template slides.
